The August "Boot Camp" offers basic training on the different technical aspects of aerospace lighting including sessions on cockpit lighting, exterior lights, night vision compatibility, human factors, and lots more. This in-depth training is beneficial for everyone working with aerospace lighting.

Aerospace Lighting Institute Boot Camp

Course Description
This course will include an overview of aerospace lighting and technical training from industry experts on the following subjects:
  • Physics of light
  • Measurement of light
  • Human factors relating to aerospace lighting
  • Applications for aircraft lighting – cockpit and exterior lighting
  • Military and commercial requirements governing aerospace lighting
  • Understanding the performance of different light sources (incandescent, LED, EL and HID)
  • Understanding the performance of night vision goggles
  • Understanding of military specifications governing night vision
  • Night vision filter requirements
  • Hands-on experience with light measurement equipment
  • Trends in aircraft lighting systems
  • Aircraft lighting hardware demonstrations
Who should attend
This course is designed for anyone involved in aerospace lighting including engineering, production, program management, product managers, sales, marketing, military personnel, pilots, manufacturers of lighted products and test equipment.

$950.00 before August 1, 2009
$1100.00 after August 2, 2009

The fee includes instruction from industry experts, course reference notebook, and a special networking event on Tuesday evening 8/25 (Wamco’s hospitality suite).

Marriott Hotel (800-228-9290) has agreed to furnish ALI attendee's rooms at the ALI discounted rate of $142 per room, single or double occupancy. Keep in mind the cut-off date for this reduced rate is July 31st. This rate will include a reduced parking rate for those attendees parking at the Marriott. Just remember to mention ALI when making your reservation. The standard rate for these rooms without mentioning ALI is $238, therefore it would be advantageous to make your reservation before the deadline. The Marriott Airport Hotel is located only a few blocks from the Los Angeles Airport terminal and furnishes airport pickup for those requiring it.
